The O’Connor Panthers boys basketball team opened District 28-5A with a hard fought 48-44 victory over the Warren Warriors on Dec 19th. The Panthers showed much patience and composure against a tough Warrior team as they held on down the stretch to notch the victory. The Panthers were led by Adrian Lozano with 18 points, Kurt Russell with 16 points and Troy Massie with 12 points. O’Connor improved their record to 9-7 overall, and 1-0 in District play. The O’Connor Panthers boy’s basketball team improved their record to 5-4 with a convincing win over Eagle Pass on December 8th. O’Connor’s stingy defense held Eagle Pass to only seven points in the first half. With pinpoint shooting the score was 30-7 at halftime and O’Connor cruised to a 54-30 victory. O’Connor was led by senior Troy Massie with 15 points, followed by Adrian Lozano with 13, and John Azzinaro with 10. The Panthers continue to work hard as they open District play on December 19th against the Warren Warriors.

The O’Connor Panthers Boys basketball team had their home opener Friday night against the Harlandale Indians and came away with a 67-59 victory.

The Panthers never trailed in the game and used a balanced scoring attack to dispose of the defensive minded Indians. O’Connor was led by Kurt Russell with 19, Adrian Lozano with 17, and Troy Massie with 12 points each. The Panthers showed a lot of poise down the stretch as Harlandale was forced to foul and send O’Connor to the line. O’Connor led at halftime 38-25.

O’Connor will next face the Macarthur Brahmas in a 5:00 pm contest on Monday.
